Scholarly Journals Versus Popular Magazines?

1. I don't think there should be a difference between the two. I think if someone wrote it and their idea or concept is credible then it should be regarded as such without regard to which periodical division they are employed by.

Scholary journals are much more reliable than popular magazines. The material in a journal is written by an author who is an expert in his field. This material is also backed up with facts and research.
Two more popular magazines would be Better Homes and Gardens and Country Home. Two scholarly journals would include The Journal of Youth and Adolescence and Psychology Today.

Most scholars do research on the given subject. Therefore info is more precise than a magazine that choses publicity over facts.

Scholarly journals are more indepth, provide more accurate information, and are longer than magazine articles.

Magazines usually are written so that anyone can understand them. They also use pictures instead of graphs or maps for advertizing purposes.

Magazines articles are written to attract people to the magazine and spark interest in topics mostly without reliable facts. Scholarly journals are written to provide useful information on a certain topic, and provide facts based on research and truth.
